Meet The Team

This is Paul Shechter, CEng F.I Mech E. Paul is the Principal Consultant Engineer and Managing Director of PJS Fluid Technologies Ltd.

This is Caryl Shechter, a retired primary school teacher. Caryl helps to support Paul on a day-to-day basis within the business.

Away from work Paul and Caryl enjoy many varied interests including walking, folk music, DIY, and gardening. Paul has climbed for more years than he cares to remember and has recently started skiing but wishes he had started this when he was a little younger!

More About Paul And The Business...

1968

Paul was educated at Bolton Technical College and Bolton Institute of Technology he began his working life in 1968 at Hick Hargreaves & Co Ltd.

The Following 32 Years...

His 32 years with Hick Hargreaves began with a conventional Technical Apprenticeship then continued with time served as Draughtsman, Designer, Senior Designer, Research Engineer, Engineering Services Manager and finally Engineering Manager (10 years in this post).

1995

In 1995 Paul was elected as Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

2001

In 2001 Hick Hargreaves & Co Ltd (then part of the TI group) was sold to BOC Edwards. Paul became the Technical Manager for the Bolton site and was responsible for embodying the Edwards High Vacuum technology into the Bolton operation. His last three years with Edwards were spent transferring technology into the Shanghai and Czech Republic facilities. He is still retained by Edwards as an independent consultant.

2007

Paul was elected as Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and became a Fellow in 2007. He is a Liaison Officer for the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and sits on the Professional Interviews Panel. Paul also recently joined the Lancashire Area Committee and is a serving Ambassador for this Institution.

2010

Paul formed the company in December 2010 after spending 42 years in the process and vacuum industries. Paul’s expertise in Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics is recognised by the Nuclear and other industries where he is often employed as a consultant engineer to solve difficult fluid transport issues.
